Fast Tribe Offers 2 things:

1. A simple, free wellness practice that can help maintain your mind and body for less than 30 minutes a day!
2. A free online quarterly prolonged fast, optionally connected to our Longevity Experiment.

Longevity Experiment

Hypothesis: If a group of people do a 3 day fast every 3 months or so, then they will have significantly lower rates of cancer and other diseases, and have a lower biological age compared to the general population.


We're trying to build a community and shared open science experiment to find a relatively free and (eventually) easy regiment that helps prevent common diseases today. We also want to track our biological age markers, and compare prolonged fasting against other solutions. Please join if you're a regular faster and want to collaborate, if you want to dip you feet in and slowly lengthen your fast, or your curious is some simple daily practices that can fit into your day!

Researchers, we need you! We are looking to partner with a Fasting or Longevity Researcher to help organize the experiment and help publish the results. We are partnered with Simie.co and have all our technical needs taken care of.

About Us

Hey there! I'm Isaac, a founder of fast tribe. I am a workaholic these days and have tried to find the easiest regiment to maintain my general wellness. I want to be sprinting at 80! There are months where I put about 30 minutes spread throughout my day to maintain my health that I believe is hyper effective, all for free. I really want to share with the world and see how people can benefit, if at all, but I'm pretty optimistic. I humbly believe that fasting is also the single most under used tool in the human biological toolbox. Our hunter gatherer ancestors were regularly needing to go multiple days before big meals, and our biology benefits in so many ways!


My fasting journey started by accident when I was dealing with some nasty gut issues. A 4-day fast completely reset my system (turns out I was just really allergic to gluten - whoops!). But that experience sent me down a rabbit hole of fasting research that completely blew my mind.


But it's not just about cancer. During these fasts, your body goes into this amazing cleaning mode called autophagy, where it breaks down old, damaged cells (scientists call them zombie cells - how cool is that?). Plus, you get a boost in brain cells, stem cells, and human growth hormone. It's like hitting the reset button on your body every few months. And it's really fun to bulk after with weight lifting and a lot of protein.

The Fasting Benefits

Key benefits of prolonged fasting (3+ days):

  1. Autophagy: Cellular cleanup and renewal 
  2. Increased HGH: Up to x10 - x20 higher growth hormone levels

  4. Insulin sensitivity improvement
  5. Metabolic reset and fat adaptation

These benefits typically begin after 24-48 hours of fasting and increase with duration, with peak autophagy around 72 hours.

A General Guide

Preparation (5-7 days before):

  • Gradually reduce calories and carbs
  • Increase water intake
  • Stop alcohol and caffeine
  • Get medical clearance (especially if you have any health conditions)

During the fast:

  • Drink 2-3L water daily
  • Maybe Add electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium)
  • Mint/ lemon-cayenne/ etc tea as desired
  • Rest and reduce physical activity
  • Monitor blood pressure and blood sugar if possible

Breaking the fast:

  • Start with clear broth
  • Wait 2 hours
  • Add small amounts of easily digestible foods
  • Avoid heavy meals for 24 hours


After the Fast: 
  • Eat a lot! A lot of protein; shakes, beans, eggs, etc
  • Workout a lot! You have 10x to 20x the human growth hormone in your veins!

Do Not Fast If:

  • Pregnancy/nursing
  • Eating disorders
  • Type 1 diabetes
  • Heart conditions
  • Kidney disease
  • Active infections
  • Underweight BMI
  • Taking certain medications

Stop Fasting If:

  • Severe dizziness or fainting
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Severe weakness
  • Vision changes
  • Sharp abdominal pain
  • Blood pressure below 90/60
  • Blood sugar below 60 mg/dL
  • Persistent vomiting
  • Severe headache
